Attacker Claiming to Be Jesus Christ Opens Fire Near White House Checkpoint

Agencies Investigating the Motive Behind the Incident

New Delhi: A 21-year-old man claiming to be Jesus Christ opened indiscriminate fire in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, on Saturday evening. The motive behind the attack has not yet been determined, and investigative agencies are conducting a detailed probe into the matter.

The shooting took place near a security checkpoint located within the secured zone of the White House. Reports suggest that President Donald Trump was present inside the White House at the time of the incident. Security personnel immediately retaliated and shot the attacker.

The assailant has been identified as 21-year-old Nasire Best, a resident of Maryland. According to reports, Nasire Best claimed to be Jesus Christ. News reports stated that around 20 to 25 rounds were fired during the incident. However, no security personnel were injured in the attack.

After being shot, the attacker was taken to George Washington University Hospital, where he later died during treatment.
